GCSE and BTEC results 2024

The results are in... and Kingsmead students have smashed it again!

You didn’t have to look any further than the joyful faces of the students to see how delighted they were with the results they’ve achieved this year. And make no mistake, our students have excelled themselves once more! We couldn’t be prouder of them, achieving some outstanding grades as a result of the years of hard work they have put in. Whilst results nationally have continued to decline, 80% of all Kingsmead GCSE grades have come in at grade 4 or above. A quarter of all grades achieved by students this year were 9-7 (the equivalent of A* and A) and 10% of all grades were 9-8 (the equivalent of A*). Once again proving beyond doubt that if you want your child to succeed, send them to Kingsmead. Deputy Headteacher, Simon Cope said, “We are absolutely thrilled that our students have achieved such outstanding results. I’m overjoyed that our students have done so well. This is a reflection of the massive effort of students and the dedicated support of parents and staff”

High standards of results maintained this year

The rising trend has continued in both our GCSE and A-Level results, and we are very excited to see what the future holds for our students. It is no accident that our amazing students have achieved such meteoric results, it is the product of a great deal of hard work over a number of years. Some notable mentions include:

  • Megan, who achieved 5 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s and 1 grade 7
  • Matthew, who achieved 5 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s and 2 grade 7s
  • Ruby, who achieved 5 grade 9s, 1 Distinction*, 1 grade 8 and 2 grade 7s
  • Oliver, who achieved 4 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and 1 grade 7
  • Ben, who achieved 3 grade 9s, 1 grade 8 and 5 grade 7s

Dan Statham, Chair of Governors, said, “Coupled with last week’s A-Level results, the exceptional outcomes today will only further cement Kingsmead’s position amongst the very best schools in the country. Considering only 67% of grades nationally were 4+, Kingsmead’s achievement of 80% 4+ is truly outstanding.”

Congratulations to all students for their terrific results

Here at Kingsmead, we keep it simple; high standards, high expectations and exceptional teaching from highly trained subject specialists. We are all very proud of what our students have achieved, continuing the success story of previous years - congratulations on these amazing results, you truly deserve it! Whether you plan to continue into Sixth Form, or whether you are moving on to other things, you have given yourselves the perfect start for a bright future.

Mike Donohue, CEO of JT-MAT, said, “Once again Kingsmead’s young people, supported and guided so well by school staff and the community, have achieved impressively. The examination grades are only a representation of the knowledge and skills they have acquired, and it is these that will see them go on to even greater success - both within the school sixth form and beyond. I send them my congratulations, and every best wish for the next steps on their journey.”
