BTEC double grades

BTEC and C'Tech double grades are printed differently on your statement of results. To help you understand the grades you have achieved, here is an equivalence table between the grades printed on your statement of results and the actual grades

D1 = Distinction* Distinction* (or two D*s)

D2 = Distinction* Distinction (or one D* and one D)

What do I do if I’m not happy with my child’s grade?

Review of Marking

Kingsmead School will identify where your child is close to achieving the next grade up. When your child’s overall result is within one mark of the next grade boundary, we will automatically request a review of marking, free of charge.

Where your child is two marks or more away, you will be notified so you can choose to pay for a review of marking yourselves. In this instance, Kingsmead School will provide you with a quote for the review. The exam board fees for a review can vary from subject to subject (for example, AQA English Language would cost £87, whilst AQA Science would cost £261).

We strongly advise against requesting reviews which have not been identified by Kingsmead School, as they will almost certainly not result in a change of grade. Please note, all reviews of marking must be made through the school. To process any review of marking, we will need your child to sign any pre-completed forms before they leave school on results day.
