Curriculum Maps

The content of each subject is precisely planned and mapped carefully using our learning journey documents. The documents map the position of individual units and identify where key themes are revisited. They allow pupils and staff to recognise and highlight the progress pupils are making and encourage pupils to look ahead to how their learning will continue to develop as well as making links with their prior learning.

All subjects plan their curriculum with a spiral structure, so that pupils regularly revisit key themes or concepts and remember what they learn. We support the strengthening and deepening of pupils’ understanding through interleaving the retrieval of prior knowledge, addressing misconceptions or gaps in understanding and the delivery of new material.

Pupils and staff regularly assess and celebrate the outstanding progress made and look forward to continuing on their ‘learning journey’.
