Exam Results Arrangements - Summer 2020
We are now in a position to inform you about the arrangements for the A Level and GCSE results days.
Students who were due to sit A Level or GCSE exams this summer will still receive a final grade. For each student, Kingsmead School has provided a ‘centre assessment grade’ for each subject. This grade is what your child would most likely have achieved had the exams gone ahead – taking into account a range of evidence, including mock results.
To make sure that the grades are fair between all schools and colleges, the exam boards are putting all centre assessment grades through a process of standardisation using a model developed with Ofqual, the independent qualifications regulator. Further information on how grades have been awarded this year, and Ofqual/the exam boards’ standardisation process, can be found on the school website (see links below). We will continue to add information to this page and others over the coming weeks, as it becomes available.
We have outlined how we provisionally plan to issue results, the arrangements in place for appeals as well as how certificates will be distributed next year, in our Information for candidates: results, appeals and certificates document (which can be found below).
Results Day Arrangements
Exam results day are:
On results days, Kingsmead School will send a statement of results to your child’s school email address, after 8am. In order to ensure that your child can access their statement of results on results day, please check with them that they can sign into their school email account. This statement of results (results slip) will be in the format that students are accustomed to seeing (i.e. the same as their mock results). We advise that at least one parent/carer should be with your child when they receive their statement of results.
If your child needs support with their next steps (i.e. a university, college place or an apprenticeship), you can email our careers advisor at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Exam Results Queries
If you or your child have any queries about the results, these should be submitted by email to email@example.com, which will be monitored on results day by Mrs T Gunner (Examinations Support Officer).
