On Thursday, a group of sixth formers organised and ran the inaugural Kingsmead’s Staff VS Students charity matches in support of Children In Need. The event was a huge success with over 50 staff and students all competing to be crowned champions. There were numerous netball and basketball matches where the sixth formers shone in the netball and the staff teams were victorious in their quest for glory in the basketball. Many students and staff members came along and showed their support to the cause and encourage their peers. There were also cakes on sale and a tombola.
Overall, the staff team were crowned champions much to their delight, whilst the sixth form were graceful in accepting the ‘sorry you lost’ trophy. The event, arranged entirely by Head Boy and Girl, Charlie Walker and Kayleigh Ghent, supported by their deputies, Oliver Thacker and Sophie Wood, raised an amazing £170. Thanks are made to everyone who helped, supported and participated!
